Jingle Bell Run 5K

Raegan ran her first 5K with her FC Dallas teammates in December of 2012.  The girls stayed together, as this was the first race they had done together.  Raegan said she walked 3 times with her running buddies.  However, she still ran a great time, much better than my first 5K.  She ran it in 28 minutes, 17 seconds and came in 5th in her age group.  She had a great time and wanted to run another one immediately!  Go RAE!!

RIP Shady Lady

I had to make a quick decision regarding sweet Shady on December 18th.  She had woken up early on the 17th and gotten sick in the house.  The next morning I found her very weak and unable to get up.  We still aren't sure what happened, as the vet was unsure when we took her in.  Unfortunately she got worse very quickly and I made the decision to let her go peacefully early on the morning of December 18th.

Shady was 12.5 years old.  She was such a good girl.  We got Shady when she was just 8 weeks old and we were living in the apartment.  Shady easily potty trained and would walk down the steps and go to the bathroom and come right back up, all on her own.  She continued to be an easy going, well mannered dog.  The girls loved her.  We miss her greatly!

Pictures with Santa and a glass blown ornament

We went to downtown Grapevine this year to see Santa.  And they would only let us take one picture with our camer.  Hmmm.  So it's on the side.  Santa was a good one though :)

While we were there we also let the girls help make a hand-blown glass ornament.  They enjoyed that.  It's a pretty cool process to watch.  Of course we still haven't picked up our ornament!

Premier Academy Christmas Program and Party

Mallory and Samantha participated in the school's Christmas program this year.  It's the first program or concert they have ever been part of.  They seemed to really enjoy it.  Mallory played the part of a shepherd and Samantha was a sheep.  Sam acted silly on the stage the entire time and avoided me taking pictures of her.  Mallory was in her glory though.  She stood front and center and had a smile on her face the entire time.  A few days after the program, the girls had their Christmas party and book exchange.  They have made some good friends at Premier.  I hope some of them will end up at Beck with them next year!

Walls Family Farm 2012

This year we headed to Walls Family Farm in Terrell without the Johnson clan.  They had already gotten their tree because they were in limbo with the sale of their house.  It was a great day, with perfect weather.  We found one good tree for Raegan and ended up cutting pretty far up on another for us.  Although the girls were exhausted from a sleep-over with grandma and were super grumpy, we did have a good time.  We ate at Cole Mountain on the way home and watched the Cowboys when we got home.  I hope the girls continue to enjoy this Christmas tradition for many years to come!

3v3 Reindeer Games

Raegan played in a 3v3 tournament with a few of her teammates (Kenzie, Emily, Chloe, Madeline, and Peyton).  The girls played under the team name "Money".  They played well together and won the tournament.  It was a fun day but very long because we were there all day long.  Great job Money!

2012 Christmas Pics

I attempted Christmas pictures again this year.  We just aren't getting around to having them professionally done lately.  Maybe one of these days.  At any rate, here's what we ended up with.  Not too bad.  I loved the girls in these cute shirts.
