Halloween 2013
As usual, we were running on Halloween. I'm not sure what we had going on but I know we were very rushed and I needed lots of drinks when I got to the Greenwood's house. But once we got there and the kids were with friends, all was right with the day. Samantha and Mallory decided to be Bobcat cheerleaders (score one for me because we already had the uniforms). Raegan and Maddie were going to be TCU volleyball players but decided at the last minute to be characters from Duck Dynasty. Raegan and Jake were both Uncle Si and Maddie was Jace. They were a trip. After dinner and a scavenger hunt, we went trick-or-treating. After TOTing, we ended the night at the Helms' Lodge where Bryan was finally able to join us. Love our traditions!!
Annual Pumpkin Patch Trip 2013
Not much to say about this. We went to the Pumpkin Patch in Flower Mound and it was MADHOUSE! We went on a Sunday after several weekends of rain. The entire metroplex was there too.
Neon 5K
Raegan, Peyton, and Ashlyn ran the Neon 5K in Flower Mound near Peyton's house. The weather was perfect for running and all of the girls were determined to beat their best times. (Raegan's best was 22:30). ALL of the girls beat their best time. Raegan came in third in the 1-14 female age group running a personal best of 22:22. I was so proud of her, as I am everytime she busts her butt to be better.
The organizers of the race gave all of the girls medals. They had extras. The tall blonde is Kaley (a friend of Peyton's that plays for Solar Red).
Texas State Fair 2013
We decided to take the girls to the State Fair this year. It was the first time the twins had been and Raegan hadn't been since she was 3. It was a busy day at the fair but we were able to see and do all of the things we wanted to. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals at the little petting zoo. They also loved playing games and riding a few rides too.
Last year Big Tex caught on fire. This is the new and improved Big Tex!
Rae plays volleyball!
As part of my get-Rae-more-involved-with-her-school-friends mission, she was asked to chose a sport to play with her friends. She decided to try volleyball and in talking with a few moms, we were able to get her on a team with several girls that she goes to school with. Because they wanted to keep the girls together, we had to sign up for the more advanced league. It was a BEATING! Raegan did great, but the team really struggled in 99% of the games. It was a long season for Raegan (and us). She did love volleyball though and because of that, we are hoping to get on a different team in the spring. She even asked to try out for a select team. As if we have time for that with select soccer. The answer was obviously no.
Rae was one of 2 girls that served overhand in the games. She got 90% of them over.
Catching up in 2014.
To say that I've neglected the blog is an understatement. So they next 20 or so posts should catch us up on the happenings of the Sharer clan.
