GOTR End of Season Party
GOTR had a party the night before their 5K. The coaches said something about each of the girls. It was nice to hear. The party was a difficult night for Raegan because she had a few girls hurt her feelings. I was so sad for her, especially that it occurred in that event where they were learning to be leaders. But the girl drama seems to be in full swing already at Beck. I'm very thankful she doesn't deal with that with her FC Dallas teammates. At any rate, Raegan looked precious and dressed up (not willingly). The girls danced after dinner then went home to rest up for the 5K the next morning.
2nd 6 Weeks Award Ceremony
The new principal at Beck has started doing an award ceremony at the end of every 6 weeks for every grade. The girls really like it. The kids have a chance to win things by having their name put in a hat. The first 6 weeks Raegan got the following awards: perfect attendance, all As, and the principal's award (perfect attendance plus all As). Raegan's name was also pulled and she picked a basketball as her prize. Samantha and Mallory both got perfect attendance and the principal's award (perfect attendance and all greens for behavior).
The 2nd 6 weeks Raegan got perfect attendance, all As, and the principal's award. Mallory got perfect attendance, the principal's award, and the leadership award in PE. Samantha got perfect attendance and the principal's award. Samantha and Mallory also won Speed to Read for the second turn and read the most books in their class (should I say I won the award). We are very proud of the girls and their accomplishments at school!

Sam was upset that she didn't get 3 awards like Mallory. Might want to work harder next time you little brat ;)
Kindergarten Thanksgiving Feast
Every year the kindergarteners prepare and invite their family to the Thanksgiving Feast. The students learn the meaning behind Thanksgiving, prepare attire to dress like the Indians, and talk about things they are thankful for. Bubbie and Grandma Jane were able to join us for the feast and Raegan was able to get out of class to join too. The girls were really cute in their outfits. Mallory was Little Brown Horse and Samantha was Little Purple Flower (should have been Little Screeching Bird).
Samantha's feather said she was thankful for "God" and Mallory's said she was thankful for "praying". Interesting considering they have never been to church and we are not the praying type!
Dallas Color Run 5K
Raegan, Madeline, Peyton, and Ashlyn ran in the Dallas Color Run. During the Color Run, participants get blasted with colors throughout the race. The end up covered in different colors and just overall a mess! The race was not a timed race so Raegan was thankful to just run for fun. I love that these girls want to do these races and want to exercise!
Before
Cheering on the girls
After! 4 hot messes!
Girls on the Run Mock 5K
Raegan participated in a program called Girls on the Run. GOTR is a program designed to teach young girls to reach their potential, have good character traits, and be respectful members of their community. GOTR participants all have a final goal of running a 5K. While Raegan didn't need the training in running, she needed all of the other things that GOTR promoted. It ended up being a great program for her. She worked hard and ran with younger girls during the training sessions. The girls ran a mock 5K the week before their final race. It was fun to see all the parents and siblings there cheering on the GOTR girls.
Abigail was one of the faster runners, coming in about a minute after Raegan.
Rae timed herself with her phone and ran a 22:50, with stopping every lap for a mark.
Mr. Dunbar ran the race with the girls. Several of the teachers came to cheer the girls on during the mock 5K. A few of them ran too.
Beck Elementary Spirit Days
Camo Day
Team Spirit Day-Little Bobcats representing!
Book Character Day-Pinkalicious and the Madd Hatter
Little Bobcats Fall Soccer
Fall soccer has come and gone and the girls did a fantastic job. This is the third season that the majority of the girls have been playing together. And they've gotten pretty good. I don't believe we ended in an undefeated season, but only had 1 or 2 losses. Coach Phil and Coach Doug were our main coaches this year, with Coach Jack there on occasion too. We are very thankful for the time they spend with the girls!
Using her arm just a little too much!
End of the season cupcakes and trophies! My camera got switched to black and white and I wasn't aware of it :( Then I ran out of space on my card and didn't get a pic of Mallory!
