Kindergarten Christmas Party

I got to attend the twins Christmas party.  It was fun!

 All of the students wrote letters to Santa at the North Pole.  And they all got returned letters from Santa's Elves (housed at BNHS).  How cool is that?  They were so excited!

FC Dallas 03 Premier Christmas Party

After the Frosty 5K the girls all (well minus 1) went to the Myer's house to do a little service project and have a Christmas gift exchange.  The girls decorated cookies and made cards for a local retirement home.  They exchanged gifts, had lunch, and run around and played.  After the party the girls delivered the cookies and cards to the retirement home.  The girls also sang a few Christmas songs.  It was a GREAT day and a great project for the girls to do to give back.  Lots of team bonding.  Life would be boring without these group of girls and parents! 

Frosty 5K Frisco

The majority of the FCD girls participated in Frisco's Frosty 5K.  Heck, Wendy and I even ran the Merry Mile.  The weather was great running weather, not too cold, not too humid.  I was encouraging Raegan to break into the 21 minutes.  So she ran with her phone like usual and I told her to pace around 7:00 minutes a mile.  Well she had a different idea of how fast she wanted to run and paced at a 6:40 mile!  She was the first female (~570 females) to finish in ALL age divisions running a 20:41!  Raegan was booking it.  I was and still am so proud of her!!!  Her next goal is to finish in the 19 minute range.  If she can do that, she will be running as fast as the top female on the varsity cross country team at BNHS!  I think she can do it :)

Icemegaddon 2013

The week after Thanksgiving DFW was blasted with one of the worst ice storms in a long time.  It literally iced for almost 12 hours non-stop.  Everything was COVERED in ice.  Not only was everything covered in ice, but the temperatures stayed low for 3 days.  Whatever somewhat melted, was frozen again once the sun went down.  School was called off on Thursday night and we didn't return to school until Wednesday the next week.  3 ice/snow days were used because the buses could not get out on the more rural roads. 

Mom and dad were also stranded here a few extra days because the roads were too bad for them to drive back.  We did get out of the house a few times but not often.  It was a LONG 5 days of togetherness.  During that time we had a fire running all day long and the heater in the house could still not keep the house warm enough.  We were lucky that the heat pump didn't freeze but it was still cold.  We were also lucky that we didn't have any issues with electricity.  During the 5 days were ate and cooked, ate and cooked.  We also did some puzzles, decorated the house, and made gingerbread houses.  Bryan took the girls sledding the first day we were home (he wasn't able to get into work either).  He pushed Raegan down the hill and lost his footing on the ice.  Bryan ended up with a torn MCL and a completely torn ACL.  He will have surgery soon to replace the ACL.  We are hoping he recovers quickly and is able to start the boating season in June!

We were all glad to go back to school after being home for 5 days.  I am surprised all of the children made it out alive!

Texas Cup 2013

FCD Premier participated in the Texas Cup put on by the Sting soccer club.  They were in the gold division against some of the best teams in DFW.  The girls all played lights out the entire tournament.  They beat Sting Hilton, Sting Gutierrez, and Dallas Texans South (2 teams ranked higher than them).  They ended up going to the championship and playing Solar Red.  They ended regulation tied 1-1 and ended up losing in overtime 2-1.  We were SO PROUD of their accomplishments and how they played as a team.  They really look good and people finally started taking notice.  Only 2 goals were allowed the whole tournament, both of those in the championship game.  Our defenders and keeper, Rae included, are just awesome!  They have had very few goals scored against them all fall.  So proud! 

Magic Time Machine

We took the girls to the Magic Time Machine to celebrate their good work for the 6 weeks.  Each 6 weeks they work towards something.  The first 6 weeks, Raegan got a Tylers shirt and the twins got new PJs for a PJ party.  This 6 weeks they all decided they wanted to go to the Magic Time Machine.  We sat in the Tiki Hut and Barbie was our waitress.  They had fun running around getting autographs from the waiters and we also got balloons.  Good job my princesses! 

Gobble Hobble 5K-Richardson

The culminating event for all GOTR participants in the metroplex was the Gobble Hobble in Richardson.  There were several other GOTR chapters there running.  A little over half of the Trophy Club GOTR girls were there.  It was a VERY cold day and very windy too.  The race was a difficult one due to the weather and Raegan didn't run near her best.  But she still won first place in the 10-11 age division running a 24:30.  She was happy to get a medal!
