Picking Raspberries

When I was telling Raegan about the things I did when I visited Ingrid and Ron in Washington, she got stuck on the idea of picking strawberries like I did. So I knew that picking something was on the list of things to do while we were in Washington. Ingrid took us to a farm that had raspberries in season. We missed strawberries by a few weeks. The girls had a BLAST! Raegan wanted to fill her basket. Mallory wanted to pick them. And Samantha ate every one that she picked. We had tons of things with raspberries over the next 4 days that we were in Washington. Raspberry salad, ice cream and raspberries, chocolate cake with raspberries. YUM!

Lake Koocanusa

Lake Koocanusa stretched over 60 miles from Montana into Canada. It borders the little town that Carole lives in. There is a nice beach just miles from Carole's house that we took the girls too. I really expected the water to be cold, like it was in Washington. But it wasn't that cold. The beach area was great and of course everything at the lake was as clean as it can be. The girls all had a good time playing in the sand and swimming.

Glacier National Park

We loaded the car up one morning and headed to Glacier National Park, located about 2hours from Carole's house. Talk about beauty. This place was amazing. The constant running water everywhere was really cool! The little tiny roads that you had to travel to get around the park, notsomuch. Again we picniced in the park and saw some cool animals. Very pretty place that Montana is!

Eureka Rodeo

While we were in Montana the rodeo was in town. I took the girls into Eureka to see it. It was definitely a small town rodeo but was lots of entertainment. The had little kids riding sheep and that was hilarious. At the end of the rodeo they had a 'boot race' for the younger kids. Raegan came in second.

Montana Part 3

We went on a day trip to Ten Lakes, a group of little lakes within walking distance of each other. It was gorgous up there. The lakes were crystal clear.


It rained just once while we were in town. And of course a beautiful rainbow came out of it. It was actually a double rainbow but I wasn't quick enough to get a good pic.

I took the big girls white water rafting outside of Glacier. Super fun! Only 2 people fell out of the boat, one of them was the instructor. LOL!

This is Lake Koocanusa. You have to pass this bridge to get to Carole's house.

Momma moose and her baby on Lake Tooley, just a few miles from Carole's house. This lake is known for the moose that it attracts.

The girls got to ride some horses at one of the neighbor's house. So fun!

Montana Part 2

Carole lives in an Amish community that is about half Amish and half English. The family down her road has twins that are 3 weeks older than S & M. We got a chance to get all of the kids together. Their son is also 7 like Raegan. When we were there they let us feed their chickens. The 2 sets of twins were so cute together!




The girls also got to go on a buggy ride with Doris and Joel. They rode into town to deliver ice cream and strawberries. They loved it!




While Bryan and Carole were getting a new car, I took the girls into Eureka to play at the park. Talk about an old school park!

Driving Carole's gator was a highlight everyday. One night we came back from the store. Raegan was driving and Carole was working the pedals. We pulled it into the garage to park and somehow the accelerator got stuck. We ran right through the log support and knocked it out of the wall. Quite the sight!
